Amber Marie Chavez

What is your name?
My full name is Amber Marie Chavez, but Marie is pronounced Mary.
What do you do?
I am a professional photographer.
What was the concept behind this shoot?
The concept behind the RE/DONE shoot was being two people at once. The photographer and the model. To shoot is an art, to place and position my body is an art, to do both at the same time is a challenge!
What do you like best about RE/DONE?
The best thing about RE/DONE jeans is the fit. So comfy, like wearing your boyfriends jeans but they actually look good on you.
What makes a quality woman?
Easy! She doesn't need a man to define her.
What is your current state of mind?
My present state of mind is extreme appreciation. There are so many terribly awful things going on in the world right now. Things that seem so far. So unfair. I always forget how good I have it. And then I have a day like today. I work, I go for a long nice run, I eat a good meal, nothing too exciting. But some people don't have that. And I want to be more aware of that. For other peoples sake and my own. I really really want to appreciate what I have.
What is your most marked characteristic?
My most marked characteristic people would probably say is my eagerness to debate! I love to argue! Throw a topic at me!
5 people living or dead who would you invite to dinner?
5 people living or dead that I would invite to dinner. Hmm.....Jesus Christ, Ingmar Bergman, Francisco Goya, Francesca Woodman and Victor Jara. That should make for a very interesting dinner.
If you were to book an airplane ticket right now, where would you go?
If I were to book an airplane ticket right now I would fly to Bolivia to see Salar de Uyuni, the largest salt flat in the world near the Andes.
Who is your favorite artist?
My favorite artist right now is someone close to me, Ash my twin sister. She has been through a wild crazy few years and still manages to make these gnarly art pieces out of hundreds of tiny pieces of paper, and she recently took up rock sculpting. I didn't even know that was a thing
