Harpel House by John Lautner

RE/DONE’s Fall/Winter 2025 campaign was shot at the Harpel House, a striking residential landmark designed by John Lautner and tucked high into the Hollywood Hills. The setting gave the campaign in a location that feels distinctly Los Angeles: modern, expressive, and deeply connected to its surroundings. Set directly into the hillside on a steep, elevated lot, the home became a natural extension of the landscape—offering an intimate, cinematic backdrop for a series of unguarded moments captured throughout the space.

Originally designed in 1956, the Harpel House is a study in contrast and balance. Natural materials and man-made structure coexist seamlessly, with expansive sliding glass doors and geometric stone elements framing uninterrupted views of the San Gabriel Mountains. The home was carefully restored in 2005 by Mark Haddawy, founder of Resurrection Vintage, preserving Lautner’s original vision while
reintroducing the house to a new generation of design enthusiasts. Light moves freely through the interiors, blurring the boundary between indoors and out.
