At our shoot, set on the streets of Downtown Los Angeles, Arielle proved unabashed and free in front of the camera held by her friend of 15 years, Andrew Arthur. Remarkably, even after so many years, it was the duo’s first time shooting together. The results make us wonder why they never shot together sooner.
Arielle in her own words:
What's your present state of mind?
Thankfulness. Every day I wake up and I thank God for everything I've been given. Life's good.
Who are my favorite artists?
Al Green! His voice makes me think of my grandparents and how much they loved each other their entire lives. John Cooper Clarke! My dad introduced him to me. He's an English poet from the 1970s known as the "Punk Poet".
Favorite place in LA?
The Magic Castle. It's a members-only club with a dress code, so everyone has to dress up super fancy and you eat dinner and watch magic. How awesome is that?
What makes me, me?
I'm such a kid at heart. No matter how old I get, I still can't sleep if I know I'm going to Disneyland in the morning!
What's the best thing about redone jeans?
They aren’t stiff, brand-new pants that you have to break in yourself. Someone else did all the work for you and now you just get to look dope as eff wearing them.
Born and raised in San Diego, Andrew Arthur relocated to Los Angeles 5 years ago.
His interest in photography grew out of his passion for skateboarding, which later grew into an interest in fashion. Andrew worked as a full-time staff photographer at WhoWhatWear, before deciding to break out on his own. He frequently collaborates with his influencer/blogger girlfriend, Chiara Ferragni and has become one of the preeminent backstage photographers during various fashion weeks around the world.
Andrew’s work can be found in various publications both online and in print such as Vogue (Spain), CR Fashion Book, Love Magazine, and more. His current clients include Calvin Klein, Guess, Louis Vuitton, and of course, Chiara Ferragni.
